Spring
Spring has arrived and with it big plans for the next few months. It seems as each new wave of blooms open, I fall in love all over again with daffodils, scilla, flowering quince, iris, poppies, peonies, roses, wisteria, azalea, and the list goes on. I am delighted to again be an accepted artist to the Callaway Gardens Plein Air event April 15-22 where I will paint the color and forms of Spring in Georgia at Callaway gardens and in select private gardens in nearby Atlanta, Newnan, Lagrange, and Columbus. The blooms aren’t too shabby here in Nashville, so for now I am painting around and about Nashville and Franklin, including Cheekwood Botanical Gardens, the farmer’s market downtown, and Leipers Fork. The Chestnut Group has a full calendar this year so I’m also painting along the Duck River, at Radnor Lake, and on properties protected through the Land Trust for Tennessee.
In May, I am looking forward to painting in Florida at ‘America’s Great Paint-out, Florida’s Forgotten Coast Plein Air Invitational’ along the coastal stretch of scenic North Florida between Mexico Beach and Alligator Point. For more details of the exhibitions, demonstrations, and events check out the events listing.
